WHY MOST AI TRAINING MISSES

Knowing the buttons is not the same as knowing the course

Plenty of AI training shows people where to click. Far less helps them decide what AI should be doing in the first place, what’s safe to share with it, and how to tell whether it’s actually helping.

Our AI training starts with your business. We teach the tools in context, so every skill your people learn connects to a real problem, a clear policy and a measurable result.

  • Demos without direction: features shown, but no link to real work.
  • Uneven confidence: a few enthusiasts race ahead while the rest hold back.
  • Hidden risk: staff use AI without knowing the rules or the risks.
  • Learning that fades: one-off workshops with nothing to reinforce them.

WHY TRAINING IS A CORE AI CAPABILITY

Strategy sets the course. Governance sets the rules. Training is how your people sail it.

An AI strategy is only as strong as the people who carry it out, and an AI policy only works if people know it and follow it. That’s why we treat AI training as a critical capability in AI management, not an optional extra. It’s the link that turns a plan on paper into consistent, safe, measurable use of AI across your organization.

Training and AI strategy

Your strategy decides what AI is for and which use cases come first. Training makes sure leaders understand those choices and teams know why they matter, so everyone pulls in the same direction instead of experimenting on their own.

Value: alignment from the boardroom to the front line.

Training and implementation

A roadmap becomes real when people can run the pilots, use the tools well and measure the results. Training builds those skills at each phase of implementation, so quick wins land and adoption keeps growing after the launch.

Value: plans that turn into results, and stay that way.

Training and AI governance

Governance frameworks expect it. ISO/IEC 42001 includes requirements for competence and awareness, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework calls for people to be trained in AI risk management. Training is how your AI policy, ethics and guardrails become everyday habits.

Value: responsible AI use you can demonstrate.

How training grows your AI maturity

Organizations rarely move up in AI maturity by buying more tools. They move up when their people’s understanding and habits grow. Training plays a different role at each stage:

  • Exploring: AI literacy for everyone, so curiosity starts on a safe footing. Start with: AI Fundamentals or an AI Learning Byte.
  • Experimenting: leaders agree direction and priorities, and teams learn to judge which ideas are worth piloting. Start with: AI Strategy Training and AI Use Case Development.
  • Operating: AI is part of real workflows, so people need clear rules and practical skills. Start with: AI Governance Training and Building Custom AI Agents.
  • Managing and improving: AI is governed, measured and refreshed as tools and risks change. Keep going with: custom training for your teams, new Bytes each month and refresher workshops.

CHOOSE YOUR FORMAT

YOU’LL BE ABLE TO

Design, build and test a working custom AI agent.

03 · Navigating AI Strategy for Leadership

Why most AI projects stall, and why the cause is usually organizational rather than technical. Leaders learn how to set direction for AI, choose the right priorities, and build the governance and culture that let adoption stick.

For: owners, executives and managers · 2 hours of teaching

YOU’LL BE ABLE TO

Lead AI adoption with a clear purpose and plan.

LIVE & IN-PERSON TRAINING

AI strategy, governance and use case workshops

Facilitated sessions, live online or in person, where your team works on your own business rather than a textbook example. We bring the structure, tools and questions. You leave with new skills and with written outputs your team owns.

01 · AI Strategy Training

Your leadership team learns to set direction for AI using the SpecNav Business Strategy and Implementation Process. We work through where you stand, what AI is for in your business, and which priorities come first.

You receive: an AI purpose statement, priorities and a first-step roadmap.

About AI strategy planning →

02 · AI Governance Training

AI compliance is new and often misunderstood. This session demystifies it. Using AEGIS, our governance framework aligned to NIST and ISO/IEC 42001, your team learns how to set the rules for AI use and starts writing them.

You receive: an initial AI Governance Policy, starting with your AI ethics and charter.

About AEGIS AI governance →

03 · AI Use Case Development

Your team learns how to spot where AI can genuinely help. Together we map workflows, generate candidate use cases, and score each one on value, ease, data readiness and risk.

You receive: a scored shortlist: pilot now, prepare first, or avoid for now.

From a 2-hour workshop to a multi-day program

Every workshop can be run at the depth your team needs. We agree the format, goals and outputs with you before we start, so the time you invest matches the result you want.

2 HOURS

Focused workshop

One topic, one clear outcome. Ideal as a kickoff, a leadership briefing, or the next step after an AI Learning Byte.

You leave with: shared understanding and agreed next steps.

HALF DAY

Working session

Time to learn and apply. Your team works through a real problem, such as scoring use cases or drafting a policy section, with hands-on practice.

You leave with: a first draft output your team can build on.

FULL DAY

Intensive

Combine topics in one day, for example strategy in the morning and use case development in the afternoon, so decisions and skills are built together.

You leave with: connected outputs and a plan to act on them.

MULTI-DAY

Program

A structured series, run on consecutive days or spread over weeks, that takes your team from AI fundamentals through strategy, governance and use cases.

You leave with: a trained team and a complete set of AI outputs.

How we facilitate

  • Live online: interactive sessions over video, with breakout work, shared templates and live demonstrations in the tools your team uses.
  • In person: on-site at your offices or a venue of your choice across Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore, Washington DC and Northern Virginia, with travel further afield by arrangement.
  • Before: a short planning call to agree goals, audience and outputs, plus optional readiness assessments so we start from evidence.
  • During: practical exercises on your own workflows and data questions, never generic examples.
  • After: written outputs, session materials and recommended next steps, so learning keeps going once we leave.
  • Group size: 5 to 30 people per session, so everyone takes part and gets hands-on time.

CUSTOM AI TRAINING DEVELOPMENT

AI training built around your organization

Off-the-shelf courses can’t know your tools, your policies or the way your teams actually work. Our custom training development service designs and builds AI training around all three, so every learner sees exactly how AI applies to their role, within your rules. We draw on more than 20 years of learning and development experience to make it practical, engaging and measurable.

How it works

  1. Discover: we learn your goals, audiences, AI tools, policies and current skill levels through interviews and short assessments.
  2. Design: we map learning objectives to roles and outcomes, and agree the format, whether e-learning, live sessions or a blend of both.
  3. Develop: we build the content using your real workflows, examples and governance rules, including guides, exercises and assessments.
  4. Pilot: we test with a small group, gather feedback and refine before full rollout.
  5. Deliver and hand over: we deliver the training, train your own trainers, or hand over everything for your team to run.
  6. Refresh: AI changes fast, so we can update content as your tools, policies and risks evolve.

YOU RECEIVE

  • Role-based learning objectives tied to your AI strategy
  • Course Guides, Exercise Guides and facilitator notes
  • E-learning modules packaged in SCORM, ready for your own learning management system
  • Knowledge checks to show competence and awareness for AI governance
  • Branded materials your organization owns

Best for: organizations rolling out AI tools, launching an AI policy, or onboarding staff at scale.

QUESTIONS

AI training FAQs

Do we need any technical background?

No. Our courses and workshops are designed for business people. Building Custom AI Agents goes deeper, but still needs no coding.

Why is training part of AI governance?

Because policies only work when people understand them. Frameworks such as ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework expect organizations to make sure the people using AI are competent and aware of the risks. Training is how you meet that expectation and show it.

How long are your workshops, and how many people can attend?

Anything from a focused 2-hour workshop to a half-day working session, a full-day intensive or a multi-day program, live online or in person. Each session is designed for 5 to 30 people, so everyone gets hands-on time. We agree the length and outputs with you before we start.

Can you build AI training for our own learning system?

Yes. Our custom training development service designs training around your tools, policies and workflows, and can package e-learning modules in SCORM so they run in your own learning management system.

How long are the online courses, and how do I sign up?

Each course is two hours of teaching. Building Custom AI Agents adds a two-hour capstone project where you build your own agent. Contact us at Hello@SpecNav.Global and we’ll get you set up.

Should we start with a course or a workshop?

If your people need core skills, start with Navigating AI Fundamentals. If your leaders need to decide direction, rules or priorities, start with a workshop. Many teams do both. A free Navigation Call will help you choose.

Do you offer Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT training?

Yes. We teach the principles that work across tools, with practical examples in Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and others. Our rule is problem first, tool second.

What are AI Learning Bytes, and when do they launch?

AI Learning Bytes are on-demand lessons of 30 minutes to an hour, each covering the basics of one AI topic. Each one leads into a dedicated workshop of two hours or more if you want to go deeper. The first three Bytes launch by December 1, 2026, with a new one added every month. You’ll be able to buy single Bytes, Byte packages, or a monthly subscription, with pricing to be confirmed. Join the early-access list and we’ll tell you as soon as they’re live.
